KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG

Yoooooo what's good what's good. Here's a bag of shit that's gone on over the last couple of weeks.

Lava Lounge is a weird little place isn't it. Have you noticed they've started opening the front up in the day to do jacket potatoes and cobs and stuff? So weird and mental. Boutique little bar full of fit girls by night, jacket potatoes by day.

I made a curry for me and Olly last week. I got a bunch of samosas and other shit to have with them. It was so nice. You know the spicy green sauce from Bombay Bites? Just dipping all these leftovers into it over the next couple days was the highlight of my year so far.

Man, I wanna be Cypriot so bad. There's a block of flats full of them near mine. Leicester Uni students. All the men do is have barbecue street parties irrespective of weather and go to the gym. Also, I systematically fall in love with the girls I see around this block and from this block in my gym. They're so effortlessly beautiful and natural, not polluted by dogshit culture like Geordie Shore and V festival. Obviously being one of these guys means you get to hang around with and talk to these girls all the time. Fuck this man, I hate my boring crap life, I wanna be a Cypriot.

How could anyone vote Aaron O'Rourke for mature rep when he isn't even mature enough to do his hair? You're having a really important photo taken mate, just bang a comb through it for fuck's sake

I love Darryl's dog. I love being around dogs and I love that when I go to see Darryl I get to hang around with his dog. Max is always forcing his fucking cats on me and as much as I love going to see Max and knocking about with him if I am at his house his cats annoy me and hamper my fun. The other day one of them got behind me on the sofa and licked my fucking head. Am I an ice lolly? Am I a Solero?

Veg in this country is a fucking farce isn't it. I was having a quiet Friday last weekend and I thought I'd cook myself a steak. I couldn't be arsed to properly cook so I thought I'd just grab one of those prepared bags of med veg. The peppers, onions, courgettes and so on. I went to my local Tesco Express and they didn't have any so I went to the big Tesco on Braunstone Gate. Sure enough the humans with taste had made sure all of the prepared med veg trays were sold out, and we just had rows and rows of bland crap left over. I hate the veg we farm in this country. It's embarrassing that in an age where you can just fly whatever in from wherever and grow anything in a greenhouse anywhere people still choose to eat the shit that grows here.

Look at this. Seriously, who is choosing to buy this crap? Have you ever tasted a red pepper before? I love veg so much and I always want mountains of it, but this stuff is just depressing and tragic. The war is over. We no longer have to eat as if we are in a bunker in the 1940s. Parsnips. As a human adult with free will I cannot comprehend eating a fucking parsnip.

The Lamplighters has closed down then. How does a place like that go under? I swear it was always busy. Thank god though. It's mad to look at this photo and consider it's less of an eyesore than it was when it was open isn't it.

I popped down to London on Saturday.

I love shit like this. Really wish more than anything ever that the white stripe on his jacket was the other way around though, the same way as the Oyster.

I linked up with a collective called The Spot to go on Radar Radio. I was excited, I only knew Marvin (bottom left, you might recall he did a podcast a few months back) so it was cool to go and par with some new faces. Radio is always fun though, loads of people locked and were tweeting and texting me.

I made an edit of some footage I had from the show. Check it out here

I linked up with Jamie after to record this weeks podcast. We went and ate our bodyweight in grilled meat and rice at a Turkish spot down Green Lanes before I got on my coach home. Man I seriously don't know what I would do without these places, they constantly leave me completely satisfied.

Ben (who now also lives in London) messaged me saying he was up in Leicester for the weekend and mentioned going for breakfast the next day. Is that odd? He was in Leicester while I was in London? Is that notable? Who gives a fuck. Anyway TwoTen is a dietary staple too. Very essential Narborough Road business. Max taught me to have chips with a fry up and I've never looked back.

Amongst other things that's like a little thumbs up, thumbs down of the food I've consumed recently. Hope you agree with me. If not I imagine it's been a very irritating read for some of you. Thanks for popping by as ever, and I'll see you soon.

WASTEMAN OF THE WEEK: 045

WASTEMAN OF THE WEEK - FAYE JOHNSON (ADAM JOHNSON'S SISTER)

I'm not scared to admit my flaws. With that in mind I realise at times I lack empathy. But I have just about enough empathy to realise that it must be pretty difficult to deal with the situation when your brother is being outed as a peadophile. By nature, naturally sisters are protective. I know my sisters are, and I know my sisters love to get involved and try to fight my battles for me.

Enter Faye Johnson. Faye was in the news this week because she has chimed up off the back of the ruling that her brother, former Sunderland and England midfielder Adam Johnson had been found guilty of grooming and having sexual relations with a minor. I'm not going to go into that, because I'm discussing it on the next podcast and this is about her. She's tried to start a 'Justice for Adam Johnson' campaign urging the people of Facebook to change their profile pictures to a picture of AJ hugging and kissing his daughter. (Risky given the crime in hand, but I'll leave that). It must be noted that there is hard evidence of AJ grooming this minor, he's admitted to kissing and now been found guilty of sexual contact. He hasn't been framed here, there isn't really a case of failed justice.

Facebook blocked her campaign, but she wasn't done. She dipped her quill in her ink and set about writing a poem on his behalf. As if the whole debacle couldn't be even more fucking embarrassing than it already is, she had decided to take matters into her own hands. The poem reads as follows

Poignant emotional stuff isn't it? No? The drivel of some any nobody trying to protect her nonce brother? Ah yes. Yes that's what it is.She is just adding column inches to a story that really doesn't need any more publicity. Did she think she was going to write and post a poem so profound and enlightening that when AJ comes to be sentenced later this month the judge would break into a wry smile, rip up his paperwork and tell him to 'clear off!' Is that what she had in mind? I cannot work out why she would want to put herself in the public eye with this shit.

WASTEMAN OF THE WEEK: 044

WASTEMAN OF THE WEEK - DEADMAU5

You know what's funny? i've been meaning to strap a quick dubplate for this loser for a hot minute, and him trying to beef with Kanye over twitter this week just reminded me of what a nerd he is. He first come to my attention a little while back when he posted a video on YouTube 'ranting' about Justin Bieber being a 'puppet', basically moaning about the song he did with Skrillex and Diplo. Moaning saying he contributes very little to the creative process of the tunes that he appears on.

Is this guy fucking real? Does he understand the idea of a popstar? He's literally a jealous weird little paranoid stoner freak who sits in his room posting videos having a go at Justin Bieber hahahahaha. A grown man! Imagine that. I bet he vapes. He's got a tattoo of a space invader on his fucking neck. Is he chiming up because he is irrelevant and Diplo and Skrillex are big names? Is that where his problem lies? It's not like Bieber has featured on and took credit for one of his songs. It's not even anything to do with him and he is pissed enough to record a fucking diary room entry about it hahaha fuck me.

Fast forward to this week and he has chimed up again, having a go at Kanye for illegally downloading music software. Kanye tweeted a screencap where an internet tab was open for torrent, a programme used for illegally downloading media. ''What the fuck @kanyewest ... Can't afford serum? Dick.'' he tweeted. Sure enough Kanye made him the butt of the joke in a series of petty tweets for a good few hours mocking his mouse helmet he wears and asking about the pronunciation of his name.

Bottom line is you just have to look at the man to understand what kind of bloke he is. Having a go at people like Justin Bieber and Kanye West, he is clearly a bloke who has issues with his own confidence and is cripplingly jealous of people who ooze confidence in the public eye, where he has to hide in his little mouse hat thing. What a fucking nerd, it's people like DeadMau5 why people say music was better back in the day. Can't wait to see who he tries to send for next.

LET ME SHOW YOU SOME STUFF

It's been weeks now and I'm still listening to Kanye's 'Ultralight Beam' every single day. I'm not bored of it, it doesn't feel like it's slowing up at all. I can't believe how fucking good that piece of music is.

These are pretty good if you get the chance. I got them from the Morrisons on Market Street. They have cola ones in the bag too, absolutely delicious. I love the way cola sweets don't really taste much like actual cola.

These things fuck me up man. They look fucking gorgeous don't they? Like you just wanna eat them and pop them with your teeth. Blueberry flavour or something like that. At Asda they used to sell these 'bath butters' that were all like chocolatey flavours. When you smelled them you'd have a 'winter fudge' flavour syrupy butter in a litre bottle. I've never wanted to pour something inedible into my mouth so bad before.

Darryls little mate is such a guy. madness isn't it to think for so long he had cats, and now he's got the pooch his life is rocketing down the super happiness highway.

We shot a video for 'What Rudeboy' A tune from my last grime EP 'Wickedlander III'. Joe Whitmore shot it, I edited it and it's going live on JDZ media on Sunday! I'll post it up on here.

I don't get it, are you clipboard wanker? Are you a news stand? I just don't know. You know how people typically do that clipboard job trying to sign people up to charities because it 'looks good on a CV'? I was thinking imagine if you had a boss in an interview who really particularly disliked those clipboard wankers. Good laugh isn't it.

I've been in my job 4 years now, and the industry I work in is pretty informal. I'm in nightclub events. You know these days it's so commonplace for bosses to google clients before interviews? I'm really shook of potential future employers finding Wickedland. Like it's a really damning, honest account of who I am. It's not like I can walk into an interview room and successfully charm a panel when they've read me wishing death on Pitbulls kids in a Wasteman of the Week write up. I'm fucked.

Just have a moment and consider how beautiful the simple McChicken Nugget is. What a gorgeous little bit of stuff. Always so satisfying, the perfect accompaniment. Genuinely, if I was a veggie I'd struggle with these. Whenever I hear people say be thankful for the little things in life, I think of these.

What I DON'T think of is people eating Maryland in McDonalds. Is there anything that represents first world poverty like this? Like with McDonalds it's cheap, there are no frills but there is a gold standard. There's a brand. There restaurants have become a canteen where tramps can bring in whatever food they like. Deliveroo losers can camp out while on shift. I don't get it. It breaks my hearts seeing sober people eating Maryland, have some self respect.

What the fuck is this thing? Am I being spied on? Are the government monitoring how many times I walk through a door? It popped up out of nowhere one day while I was out of my flat for a little while. It's on the door that separates my corridor from the rest of the building. I'd like to know what it is so if any ronnie's are locked, comment and let me know.

I went to watch the Ice Hockey in Nottingham with a bunch of guys for my friend Sam's birthday last Friday. It was pretty good fun you know. Ice Hockey is such a good sport man, I kind of hate myself for not getting into it earlier in my life. Since New York and then NHL 16 (the game) took over my life I'm so interested in it. The game was cool, Nottingham Panthers lead 1-0 into the final period and then Belfast Giants came back and won 5-1! There were loads of people there in Nottingham jerseys, it was pretty cool. I definitely want to go again.

Wheeeyyyyyy lads lads lads lads. Those stickers have gone a long way, I've got loads left too.

These things make me feel uneasy, they're so so inappropriate. Who fucking buys these anyway? Does anyone? what are they? Are they just sausage meat? Are they massive sausages? Horrible idea anyway, just get rid of them!

I went to watch the football with a load of the lads and me and Frank got 2 meals off of the 2 for £7.99 menu. TWIN GRAVY BOATS fuck your rules this is 2016 wake up

Some pissed up bloke was getting way too into the penalties and when Lucas' penalty got saved he pushed open this door and stormed through it. i assume he thought it was a door to the outside area or something but it was a door to the cellar and he fell down a bunch of stairs. He didn't come back up.

NO FACE NO CASE

Darryl popped through and meditated on his bike. Kama was recording a verse for my new EP, should be out in about 6 weeks 3 day 11 hours and 21 minutes.

I tried to bake a brownie from this mix my sister sent me. I fucking hate my oven so much, all the numbers on the dials have steamed off of the front panel so it's just a guessing game. Remember the first time I did those flapjacks? They were crispy. I burned my hand bringing it out, spilled half of it and then it sunk and went all black when I popped it back in for 5 minutes. I was so excited and it went to absolute shit.

Thanks for reading, have a good day!

WASTEMAN OF THE WEEK: 043

WASTEMAN OF THE WEEK - JOSH 'THE FAT JEW' OSTROVSKY

Do you know who this guy is? He's in a circle of comedians and podcasters that I'm plugged into. Josh 'The Fat Jew' Ostrovsky is a 34 year old from New York and he has a popping Instagram account with 7.8 million followers. He describes himself as an 'American pop culture commentator'. His whole persona is based off stealing other peoples tweets and memes and passing them off as his own. You scroll his Instagram account and each post is accompanied by a little caption. He'll take the time to crop out the original posters identity and pass off the tweets and memes as his own.

Some people think he is a sick social commentator, where as typically comedians tend to think he is a dick. There has been controversy before regarding him reposting and widely publicising material other comics had put out that was taken from their stand up routines. Since I've been aware of who he is I've seen countless people out him for this stuff and he literally doesn't care. Kind of admits to it in the media and still gets paid from his various revenue streams so he laughs it off.

In short, things are going pretty well for him. He's received a bunch of TV work, cameos in films and got a job as a reporter on E! all off the back of this curated content. Isn't that mad? Like he actually isn't at all humorous and is earning a living from stealing other peoples jokes. I read earlier that he receives $6,000 per sponsored post on his Instagram. After saying he wouldn't want to go into stand up comedy he spoke about how his Instagram is 'more like performance art than comedy'. Haha imagine that, what a cunt. Finally, just look at the bloke. Clearly a wasteman.

BUSINESS AS USUAL

Yooooooo what's going on people? Even though it was bitterly cold today I feel like we are on the way up. Like it might be light when you leave work tomorrow. Hopefully we actually get a summer this year. Time will tell. Here's a few bits from either side of my trip to Amsterdam.

Did you see Zouma's made injury the other week? Fucking horrible. I can't imagine how mad that must feel

Seeing these pictures is making me realise how long it's been since I did one of these posts. I cooked this and it was fucking gorgeous. Mad how asparagus makes your piss stink though isn't it.

I went for food on my birthday with my mum and my little sister. Look at how fucking excited my mum is at the prospect of being on my blog hahaha big up mum, eeeeeearly wickedlander

I went to watch Kanyes Yeezy Season 3 launch party at MGS at the Showcase with Darryl. It was really weird, like he basically debuted his new album from a laptop, while models modelled his new range. It was sick, kind of iconic. The whole thing was shot really nicely.

Especially given it was my birthday and we were in the cinema getting pissed up I think I'll remember my first listen to this album for a long time. With new albums from my favourite artists I always try and dedicate some complete attention to them on first listen, and with this is was a cool way to first hear TLOP

Went for a birthday sloz at Orange Tree. Mitch made me the strongest long island. I was hammered by the time we left.

Darryl got us a couple of shots of this peanut liqueur and it was fucking blinding. It went down really nicely and just tasted a bit like a snickers you could drink and get pissed off it. Get some next time you see it.

I tweeted this photo of Brad when we linked up before our flight. Oz (the guy I work with) photoshopped the following versions haha. How much fun. Imagine being alive in an age where we didn't have the internet and photoshop. Load of rubbish.

I can't remember when this guys hat said, it was a few letters, but it was one of those fitted hats with the big metal bolted on letters like what footballers or Floyd Mayweather wear. Very mental

Still ouchea

There is this woman who sells the Big Issue near St Martins Square who occasionally plays the accordion. Considering how much I usually dislike buskers in the street she fucking shreds on this thing. I don't give a fuck about her Big Issue, but if she's on this thing I'll always chuck her a couple of quid. She doesn't like me to take photos of her regardless.

Croques are really taking the piss these days. I'd rather they just didn't bother giving me these, they look so pathetic and rubbish.

I fucking love Instanbul you know, I just wanna eat there every single day. I tell everyone to go here and there is literally no excuse if you haven't already been. Like you have to eat every single day of your life to stay alive so just go and eat the food from here. It's easy.

It was a right jolly old time.

WASTEMAN OF THE WEEK: 042

WASTEMAN OF THE WEEK - MANNY PACQUIAO

He's not had the best 12 months really has he. Finally got to face his arch rival, lost, and now this. Manny has been all over the news this week after a clip from an interview surfaced when he says 'If you have male on male or female on female relationships then humans are worse than animals'. This comes off the back of his explaining his beliefs are so because he is a christian. As you can imagine these comments have caused quite the media frenzy.

This also led to Nike dropping him after an 8 year deal. Kind of convenient on their part given they have overlooked similar comments before from him, and especially now he is on the scraphead. Smart move from them to distance themselves from this. It's a shame because Manny Pacquiao has always been seen as the smiling nice guy who come from absolutely nothing to world super stardom and insane riches. No wonder he had the backing of companies as big as Nike, I imagine the rags to riches rhetoric is a hugely marketable angle for a brand of that size.

As if it wasn't all enough of a mess he then came out in his own defence and said 'People are alarmed by the truth', and really put that fucking icing on the cake. He's at the level of stardom where even people who do not follow boxing know his name, and given the coverage his recent comments have had, I'm sure there's plenty of members of the general public who are going to remember him for the things he's said rather than his triumphs in the ring.
