BUMPER MUSIC FREESTYLE
So for a little while now me and Darryl have been working on a solid grime project called 'Bumper Music'. We filmed this video the other day with Leicester based media company Al1media to give a promo of the sort of style that the mixtape will be. All the tunes are vocalled by us two and produced by us too, expect to see it late this year.

GIF GANG
do your fingers ever type a word when you mean to type another and you wonder where that word came from? i went to type 'look' and wrote 'lota', which doesn't even make sense. if i could bet 'lota' on the lottery i would but it doesn't even make sense. maybe a horse called 'lota' is running today.
this is really imaginative isn't it? just weird and rank.
LOOOOOOOOOOL
obviously zlatan is duppying the rave
this made me laugh hahaha
i thought this was cool. i would think it was a lot cooler if it didn't have the final line about being 'mindfucked' on it. that is one of those annoying phrases used by the internet cretins.
AND THATS CALLED GIFS SOOOOO

DRUNKEN SLAM DUNKIN'
OK! How is everyone? In this single moment i feel like my life is a reply of about this time last week. anyway, off we trot. WE HAVE NO TIME TO WASTE!
It was Jamies birthday on friday so we went into town for drinks. lovely kate at the landsdowne brought us over a load of jägerbombs and a round of drinks, what a star. these had us fucked.
so drunk that i accidentally thought about mcdonalds for a bit and then had to have one. i was a pissed little mess slowly forcing the mcdonalds into my mouth. i was so happy just sat there on my own. there was a wicked argument between these two wigger girls and some indian lads laid on by mcdonalds for entertainment too.
i caught up with the rest of the crowd in firebug, I was greeted by this girls genius shoes. incase you can't make out because the photo is a bit blurry, yes... that is a 6 inch foam heel. who the fuck thinks this is acceptable in this day and age?
sophbeck waving. The night out also acted as a leaving doo as Jamie was leaving Leicester to start a new job in London. he is there now!
The weekend was pretty good fun. I went to the Riverside festival on saturday (and wrote about it here) and then on sunday we went round blake and kirtsy's to eat lovely barbecue stuff and watch spain vs italy in the euros. I met kirsty's son for the first time and he is very very excitable! haha
on a side note, i thought about how much i love it when women are around when its barbecue preparation time. they always make wicked little extras that men generally can't be bothered with.
lunch was moving kind of seriously on monday. I love tesco meal deals, but its simply not enough food. it was raining on monday and i was cycling in it and pissed off, so i went fucking tits for lunch to pick myself up. don't be food as well, even though they do some stupid sandwiches with really mental nice fillings, the ham and cheese from there is brilliant. they use mayo instead of butter and it just makes it fantastic.
tuesday night I attended the best bar none awards at the city rooms. Its a night where pubs and clubs get accredited for reaching certain standards, and I was invited along with work. it was all very posh with loads of free drinks and a delicious 3 course meal. for the main it was some jerk chicken with spicy noodles and roasted veg. between a few contacts we knew at city rooms me and pete managed to bag 2 mains each haha, i felt so happy. the food was fucking delicious as well!
Steve Walsh was presenting the awards. I was on my way to the bathroom and he collared me. 'Excuse me, are you sam from wicked-land? can i just grab a quick picture please mate? sorry to be a pest but I'm a really big fan.'
honestly, its getting painful now, getting stopped left, right and centre by nobodies. I'm busy.
me, sarah and pete were loving the free WKD's from the reps. we were all a little worse for wear by now, and thought the whole WKD-wicked-land connection would make a load more sense than it does seeing this in the light of day.
they had this new flavour of WKD that was actually really nice. i think its coming out soon, and its something to do with UV lights in clubs make it look a certain way. the bottle was black and i think it goes see through or something. it tasted like refreshers (the sweets) really sherbetty and sweet. shame it's a puff Douglas drink.
we went on to rockafellas for a bit after. I saw Brydee and she said she looooves wicked-land. this is a photo of me and her both very drunk!
this guy was such a wanker. wearing a vest, a baggy woolly hat and drinking a 1.5 litre lucozade as if that is a normal way to live.
has some of that well nice pasta again yesterday. seriously, this is one of my favourite foods to have in town, the guy covers it in nice spicy sauce and its actually got loads of chicken in it. peeeerfection.
it was nice yesterday so i sat and did some drawing at town half square. the bench i was sitting on happened to back onto a massive bush and these little greenflies kept falling on my paper. i finished my food and got back to the office and was well itchy, looked over my shoulder and saw my back was absolutely COVERED in those little green cunts. I kept scratching yesterday and feeling them tickling my back and stuff it was driving me mental.
as if thats not bad enough the drawing wasn't finished so i was planning on going back to sit in the same spot and finish it. for fuck sake it was awfully itchy, I'm really not looking forward to that.
cool dudes! right, well thank you for reading, I've got a load of exciting posts lined up so expect june to be a busy busy month for wicked-land. HIGH FIVE

CHUMBLR 07
CHUMBLR TIME!!!
CHECK OUT THIS COOL CHAIR!
This girl Derri posted this photo on Facebook. don't you think its a wicked photo?
LOOOOOOOL
CHILL
from a designers point of view, this is brilliant. i can't remember who did it, but the final outcome (on the right obviously) is meant to represent 'a time and place' PRILLIANT WORK
LOVELY
this is a nice original idea isn't it? i like everything about it from the pink hand style to the logo at the top and the way the photo is translucent, a lovely piece of design.

THOUGHTS ON THE RIVERSIDE FESTIVAL
Im going to slightly deviate from my blogs typical chronological linear nature to dip into last saturday before i publish the weekly post to bring you a special on some thoughts and photos I gathered at the riverside festival.
I was treated to one of the most pathetic annual rituals in Leicester over the course of the weekend. For those who don't know, its one of those events where all the usual parties come down and set up a little tent or picnic table to raise awareness of there cause, all the same stuff as that they have at things like the braunstone carnival. useless pointless stuff that if they didn't exist literally nothing would change in the world.
sometimes it can be ok if the sun is out, because a lot more young people show their faces and enjoy drinking in the daytime with a merrier mood. however, this year under the doom and gloom of our english weather the only people who made it were parents with young kids, all the hippies from leicester and our little group (Me, Frank, Nat, Mills and Jamie.) here are a few little things I saw during the day.
this little girl was wearing a t-shirt that read 'i love football' then 'football' was crossed out and underneath it says 'fashion'. this made me laugh. I've thought about it and i think the thing that made me laugh wasn't that this girl was wearing something so crap, because we have all been kids and wore shit stuff, i think it was the t-shirt itself. i don't get the point, like football is the base, default setting for what someone likes and the t-shirt is rebelling against that. hahaha
jetski campbell was in attendance breaking the 'no bottles or glass' policy near the music stage with a delicious european fruit drink.
I WEEEARRRR MY SUUUUUNGLASSSESSSS AT DAAAY
there were loads of market stalls selling rubbish stuff. this one was a card stall. I can't think of a time when this would ever be appropriate haha. it reminded me of when i used to work for bookers cash and carry and we got the monthly newsletter round and the big headline was that we had expanded into india, and opened our first branch there.
they went with the headline 'cash and curry'
seriously, they were out in fucking FORCE
this made me laugh. these people had a little thing where they did a weird role-play with little kids to demonstrate pollination, that involved one child strapping a massive flower to their face and the other kid fucking the flower with a giant model bee.
its shit like this that i don't get. what an odd specific thing to be teaching kids. they will pick this up along the way at school. its wicked that these people are nice enough to give up their time and dedicate it to teaching children about stuff, but seriously, thats what school is for. it was such a bizarre and specific thing to be teaching them, and done in such an odd way that i feel the message got lost and the kids were just confused.
still, without them i wouldn't have this photo of the flower heading girl. it looks like something out of garth marenghi's darkplace doesn't it haha
there was loads of stuff going on up and down the canal. like this bloke. spending his saturday on his own, paddling along in what looked like a massive upside down dustbin lid. at what point is he gonna look at himself and say 'my life is literally pointless; I define obsolete.'
unlike captain birds eye over here. It never fails to amaze me how many people fall into looking like caricatures for whatever field of work they are in. the amount of designers i know who wear checked shirts, thick rimmed glasses, well designed and practical overcoats or jackets (ie. northface) and drink strong coffee.
BRITS ON TOOOUR LALALA BRITS ON TOOOUR LALALA
on the real though we saw these genius banter boys. all the barges were pulled up to the side of the canal, and one of them was playing some oasis from this little computer speakers whilst all the white british males aboard were drinking tinnies and doing a good banter on each other. we walked by and this pissed up one remarked 'this is my fucking house! and these lot are pissed in it!' he was having such a great day.
biker mice from mars. you can't really see but he had a small motorbike model on his helmet.
and to finish off a woman got too excited and stood up on a car. the people she was with surrounded her and took pictures and laughed, no doubt quipping about how 'menkle' she was. shortly after she got down one of the women she was with just unlocked the car, got in and drove off. it was so weird and pointless.
well thats wicked-land. i really really enjoyed writing this post out. thanks for reading and shout outs to Brydee Lynch and Benjamin Summers

EURO 2012 SWEEPSTAKES DRAW
OK SO FINALLY THE EURO'S ARE UPON US! remember how great the last ones were? england were not in them, but there was so many great matches, it was a cracking tournament. I heard somebody raise an interesting point; the world cup is held in the highest regard when it comes to international tournaments because of the size of the competition and the amount of different countries involved, rightly so; it is the most coveted prize in football. The euros are often a better tournament however as there are not as many dead rubber results. no rubbish countries who slipped through under the radar. you look at the teams who make up the groups and there should be some fantastic stuff on show.
I'm really really looking forward to the tournament. we did a quick round up and drew teams for a sweepstakes between myself and 7 of my friends. check out the video here.
thanks a lot!

JUBILEEEEEAVE IT YEAH
Im currently really frustrated because I've made loads of hard copies of my last mixtape this week, and have been handing them out. I've just got round to submitting the track information to gracenote and couldn't attach the album artwork. I don't think you can add it once the CD has been burned. long story short, people are gonna put my mixtape into their computers/laptops and although the track names will come up they will have to source the album art online or just go without, how very annoying.
the rain finally came and smelt wonderful. i sat outside under a little umbrella just sniffing up the whole place. it was perfect.
To celebrate the queens jubilee most people wore those little plastic union flag hats. Im sure thats what she would want anyway.
i went to see these furrows with max and bradley. you know my mate darryl? its a band he is in and they are deffo one of my favourite bands. check them out by clicking this link (their album is due for release later this year)
something mad happened. we were walking back, and a car pulled onto the curb to park up. as it did, it slowly drove over an empty corona bottle and it smashed, bits of glass flew past our faces and all around me, max and frank and then frank looked down and he had been got in the leg! it bled so so bad, and he has a right chunky cut right now. honestly, so much blood!
oi my dog is a shower guy i swear, watch how excited he was when he finally got onto the park the other day. i feel like a prick for filming this in portrait, it really really bugs me when people do that.
quick jubilee weekend bank holiday pass through republic on sunday.
i can't believe that girls are still wearing that tiger print topshop dress. you know the one, this one...
you knooooow, as in this one!
you know the one, every single girl in leicester has it. as in this one...
ok so something weird happened. this random guy tweeted saying 'WICKED LAND' and i asked him 'wicked land? as in my blog?' and he replied 'not at all'
the following conversation ensued, pardon my typo; i meant to say have* that WL jacket too (the jacket this guy is wearing in his profile picture has a big WL on the breast)
i had to let this guy know he was just gassing. he said he thought of wicked land about a week ago and ran with it and i told him it had been my life for the last 5 and a half years. don't just say anything and try and claim it as your own is the moral of the story.
my man in the driving seat has got one of those plastic hats on haha. proper made me laugh.
wallatight the big johns pizza though. they come through and do it wicked, even if they are dippy as fuck. me and darryl went halves on a 16 inch and it was £2.50 each. it was really really nice.
a nice little two ten the next day with jamie, darryl and max.
not only does max have chips with a fry up, he was ketchup and brown sauce on one plate. he does some mental things, can you imagine that?
hello bro, you are not bird man. cracking effort, but its not the one. better luck next time, yours sincerely, the people of leicester.
this guy in a shop was showing me about apple tv, i didn't know about it. apparently they made these little chaps that plus into your tv, and recalled and reissued them once they realised you could jailbreak them. in doing so you access a load of the downloadable content, including loads of tv series, films and music videos all in HD. as well as this, its got a 250gb hard drive built in, so you can put your own stuff on it, and watch it via your tv. he says you can still grab the jailbroken ones from ebay. I'm into that.
thanks for reading about whats been going on and that. i bet you all had a wicked jubilee weekend. extra days off and bare of you are still having a go at the queen? frank said something interesting to me. she has the national anthem sung to her all the time but never sings it herself. I've never thought of that. I wonder if she likes the tune.
