Everybody always liked the blue ice poles. don't get me wrong, blue ice poles are lovely but the yellow ice pole was far nicer i always found. It was tropical flavour. that's so amazing right?
ANYWAY
last friday night I went to a dead fancy dinner at the city rooms to celebrate the first birthday of the Fosse Business Breakfast Club. here is everyone around our table throwing up some W's. shame about the swag quality of the photo. i hate people who are shit at taking pictures. In this day and age its ridiculous isn't it?
Speaking of ridiculous, I'm not having this. Look at his shopping, gripped between his ankles. genius.
a few of us went to firebug on saturday night for some drinks for max's birthday.
I really really like pear cider, especially rekorderlig, and it seems I'm in a minority. everyone prefers more fruity ciders, which even given my sweet tooth i don't really like that much. Brad shown me this drink called 'Old J', somebody has recreated the old Sailor Jerrys recipe and made it available. I had a taste of it and instantly it brought back memories of Panic at Leicester Square haha
EARS UP INDEED!
*WICKED-LAND LONG TIME READER FIRST APPEARANCE KLAXON*
big shout to Nially and Marvin, both wicked-landers from day, but yet to make an appearance! here they are in their joint WL debut throwing up a little shape. special mention to Bradleys tremendous face in the background. wow.
I went for a bite to eat at Jones' on Queens road over the weekend and copped this chicken burger and chips. It was so mentally good. From the first moment I saw it I knew it would be one of those things I would crave all the time. Instead of a bun they just casually used a bagel and the chips were covered in chilli and parmesan cheese, a seriously unbelievably good combo. The burger was full of lovely little salad and sauces and that, all for £6.70. definitely gonna cop this again.
This guy was in there sat next to us and he boxed off a fry up so fast, like didn't even enjoy it, he just wolfed it. as his food came out to his table with the fry up he ordered the beef equivalent of the burger I had and it sat opposite him. everyone was wondering if he was expecting company, but as soon as he ate the fry up he just moved straight on and smashed the burger and chips. It really was a lot of food, and it was a seamless transition between tastes. the thought of having a fry up then a burger and chips makes me feel a bit sick, not only because of the sheer quantity of food but because of the difference in taste straight away.
I went with Frank to watch Lord Finesse at the music cafe sunday night. his show was tremendous, he sounded exactly like his records, and did a really good long comprehensive show. His talks to the crowd in between the songs were brilliant too, he really was quiet funny. He had good funny stories about how he encounter a lot of different famous new york rappers from his era, and spoke about when he was younger and getting into hip hop culture.
The highlight of the show for me was at one point Dj Boogie Blind was doing a little juggling skit and Lord Finesse jumped behind the decks and went back to back with him. a very talented man indeed.
look at this bloke giving his girl a choke hold headlock in mcdonalds. "Bitch, shut the fuck up' loooool
Wednesday night I went to see Ben Howard on his Every Kingdom tour with Paige at the O2. The show blew me away, the songs were so progressing and atmospheric, it really was a special treat. I knew he was playing Leicester for well over a year and to think this day I was waiting for came around at last was really exciting.
Finally, a dickhead beg dressed stupidly for no reason in town. You'd hope that something like bringing new life into the world and having a child would make these cretins grow out of wearing a woolly hat with multicoloured fucking horns on it wouldn't you? Whats the point.
AND THATS WHAT WE CALL WICKED-LAND! Im gonna get a podcast done soon, ill see if i can do it next week sometime. have a smashing weekend! and cheers for reading!
